More Winter Curb Appeal Tips! | Raleigh Garage Door
Are you bored with your landscaping and curb appeal? Do you find yourself longing for spring and summer so you can spend more time outdoors doing a few projects? Is the exterior of your home and curb appeal lacking interest during this cold weather? It’s easy to believe that the exteriors of our homes are destined to endure a temporary drab spell during the cold winter months. Thankfully, that’s not the truth at all! Our Raleigh garage door experts are here to help you spruce up your curb appeal this winter with projects that will only enhance the other work you do the rest of the year!
New Planter Bed
In our last post we talked about revamping your old planters and making them look new again. Those that don’t have an existing planter should consider adding one to create tons of beautiful curb appeal all year long! According to bhg.com, “Add contrast and color to your home exterior with a new planting bed. Prime spots for curb appeal are at the front corners of the yard, along driveways or walkways, and immediately in front of the house. When creating a new bed, choose features that will frame your home rather than obscure it. Opt for stone or precast-concrete blocks to edge the bed. Include a mix of plant size, color, and texture for optimal results.”
Paint the House
Also according to bhg.com, “An exterior face-lift (new paint, siding, or trim details) automatically transforms the look of a home. Periodic maintenance of that exterior surface is the surest way to keep your house and it curb appeal looking its best. Any obvious defects, such as cracked or rotting material, can downgrade the aesthetic and quickly turn away potential home buyers. Once defects are repaired, look for ways to add personality with color, trim, or shingles.”
You can even give your Raleigh garage door a face-lift, as well. For more information on how to paint your garage door, visit back with our previous post, here. If you’re worried about low temperatures during winter and how it might affect your paint, consider using a low-temp paint that can be used in temperatures as low as 35 degrees! Today’s technology has made it easier for us to do tough jobs when the weather is more mild, as opposed to waiting until the heat is blasting!
